SUMMER OPEN EXHIBITION 2016 @ SOLAS ART GALLERY, BALLINAMORE, CO. LEITRIM.

On  on Fri 29th July, Solas held its annual Open Exhibition. This show is not just for our members but includes artists from the North West and a bit beyond. Equally we welcome our many new members. The submitted works go before a selection committee, ensuring that the exhibition is of a high standard and variety. This year there will be about 50 artworks on display. The range of work goes from contemporary to landscapes; portraits; flora & fauna, you name it and could well be here, also including fabulous fabric & ceramic sculptures. A variety of mediums have been used; charcoal, pastel, oils, acrylics, watercolours, fabrics, ceramics and mixed media.

A few images have been randomly chosen to illustrate the wide choice of work, needless to say we cannot list everything. There will be a full list of participating artists on our website and on our Facebook page. Best thing is to come along and see for yourselves. Some of the including artists will also be having solo exhibitions over the coming months.

During this exhibition, Ballinamore celebrates its’ 50th Annual Family Festival. A fabulous time for family & friends and what better way to enhance this time more, than visiting & supporting your local art gallery. The exhibition will be opening on Fri 29th July at 7.30 pm by acclaimed artist Rikki van den Berg and will be on show until 27th August. Opening hours, 10am-6pm; Mon – Sat. If you can’t make the opening, please call in during the month and enjoy.
